School motivation is a key factor in the learning process and students’ academic performance. This study aimed to analyze the factors influencing school motivation among basic education students through a quantitative, descriptive-correlational approach with a non-experimental cross-sectional design. The sample consisted of 48 students who completed a structured questionnaire using a Likert-type scale.
The results showed high levels of motivation in aspects such as interest in learning, academic effort, and perceived competence. Likewise, teacher support, clarity in instruction, and a positive school climate were identified as significant factors influencing student motivation. However, intermediate responses were observed in variables such as consistent support and recognition of effort, suggesting areas for improvement.
It is concluded that school motivation depends on the interaction of personal, pedagogical, and contextual factors, highlighting the importance of implementing active teaching strategies and consistent teacher support to enhance student engagement.
