Abstract

Electrical problems negatively affect the operation of machines and tools, compromising the educational quality and efficiency of learning environments. The objective was to identify the appropriate technical procedures for establishing an electrical maintenance procedure in the machine shop. A mixed-methods exploratory research methodology was used, which included a literature review, previous studies on risks and electrical maintenance, and a descriptive and field study, allowing for the direct collection of information from the Puellaro Technical School. The population consisted of 138 students from the second and sixth forms of the Institute, who were given an 8-question survey on different scales. It was found that the lack of clear knowledge about the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and electrical maintenance procedures in the Machining Workshop of the Puellaro Technical School represents a significant risk to safety and operational efficiency. This educational deficit is reflected in a low understanding of specific electrical risks and inconsistent industrial safety practices. It was concluded that it is crucial to implement educational programmes that strengthen students' understanding of these issues, thus ensuring a safer and more professional working environment.
