Abstract

Plastic cartridges used in industrial, agricultural, and consumer processes represent a significant source of waste within contemporary production systems. Traditionally, these materials have been treated as residues with limited economic value, generating environmental impacts associated with accumulation and inadequate disposal. However, within the current context of sustainability and circular economy, these wastes can be transformed into raw materials for the production of new goods such as plastic furniture, containers, and other utilitarian products.

The objective of this study is to analyze the commercial valorization opportunities of used plastic cartridges from a sustainable marketing perspective, identifying the factors that influence their acceptance in the market. The research adopts an exploratory mixed-methods approach, combining semi-structured interviews with actors involved in plastic recycling and transformation with surveys administered to consumers interested in sustainable products.

The results indicate that purchase intention is mainly associated with attributes such as environmental sustainability, waste reduction, product functionality, and trust in recycling processes. At the same time, barriers related to limited consumer knowledge about recycled materials and perceptions regarding the quality of recycled plastic were identified.

The study concludes that used plastic cartridges can become viable economic resources when marketing strategies integrate circular economy principles, production transparency, and sustainable differentiation.
