Metabolic Syndrome increases cardiovascular risk. Although CrossFit high-intensity training modulates clinical parameters to improve the metabolic profile of its practitioners, several factors may influence these results. The objective of this study was to analyze clinical parameters as indicators of Metabolic Syndrome in CrossFit users in the province of El Oro, Ecuador, during 2025. A descriptive, cross-sectional, and prospective design was applied with a quantitative approach and explanatory level, using a representative sample of 50 selected adults, following all pertinent ethical considerations. Fasting glucose, lipid profile, waist circumference, and blood pressure were determined as clinical parameters according to the Adult Treatment Panel III. The results showed that most users presented normal values; however, men exhibited a high frequency of hypertension (50%), abdominal obesity (35.7%), and hyperglycemia (14.3%), while 47.2% of women showed a low lipid profile regarding high-density lipoprotein cholesterol. It was evidenced that 20% of the analyzed population met three of the diagnostic criteria, with men being 1.77 times more likely to develop Metabolic Syndrome. A significant association (p<0.0001) was observed between fasting glucose concentrations in men and triglyceride levels in both population groups with the presence of Metabolic Syndrome. It is concluded that the cardiometabolic risk in this cohort is conditioned by uncontrolled glucose and triglyceride levels, suggesting that regional dietary factors may prevail over the metabolic adaptations expected from this type of training.
